The League is a “One Stop” multi service agency. Our mission is to promote the self-empowerment of individuals in the CT Capital Region to achieve educational, occupational and economic equality for themselves and their families. ULGH implements its mission through direct program services, advocacy, research and building across racial and ethnic boundaries. Our “bottom Line” success metric is family self sufficiency and achievement. Our services include employability skills training, occupational skills training and the construction trades. The League also partners with employers both local and state wide. These employers are made up of many types of businesses, medical, banking, retail, hospitality, insurance and others. These types of partnerships allows the league to be a viable arm in the community in which we serve.  

The majority of our customers come from the greater Hartford area and surrounding towns. Our services coincide with the United Way of the Capital Area service area.
In fiscal Year 2006-2007 the Urban League of Greater Hartford achieved the following representative outcomes:

416 individuals became gainfully employed through the services provided by the Urban League of Greater Hartford.
