Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program
This summer the Urban League hosted 75 youth who participated in Capital Workforce Partners Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program.  The program participants were Tier I and Tier II youth who worked diligently throughout the summer to produce their career portfolio (real time resume, cover letter and thank you letter) and “Dream Resume”, a resume that dictated the educational and work experiences necessary to achieve their professional goal.  Youth in the Tier II program were also challenged to undertake the initial planning for a city wide youth summit, to take place in the spring of 2009, and to develop a web page to help promote ULAC youth programs as well as encourage youth to network amongst themselves.
