The Urban League has teamed up with Travelers, Comcast, National Urban League, and Scholastic Inc. to provide resources to help children succeed in school and beyond. The collaboration produces award-winning children’s books, magazines, easy-to-read parent guides, and offers Parent Circles to help ensure that our children are getting the necessary early literacy and pre-reading skills they need in order or to achieve academic, personal and professional excellence.
Children who learn to read and write at early stages do well in school and become more successful. Read and Rise is a program that is especially designed to promote these goals. Parents and caregivers will be able to not only help their children develop strong reading skills, but to also learn pleasurable activities that will allow them to bond with their children and make reading a more enjoyable experience. The lifetime rewards from this program will be most valuable to the children, their families, and the community.
We look forward to working with you as we bridge the achievement gap by educating parents and creating literacy-rich communities for all.
