The Urban League Achievement Center provides high school age youth at Weaver High School with supplementary activities to better prepare them for careers and for life.
The program provides youth with opportunities to participate in:
- Academic enrichment
- College Tours
- Tutoring
- Community service projects
- Post secondary transition counseling
- Career exposure
- Employability skills training
- Mentoring
- Internships
- Cultural awareness and cultural activities
- Organized sports and wellness programs
- Leadership activities
The program also supports the Law and Public Service Academies at Weaver and Hartford Public High Schools by providing complementary activities and internships designed to provide youth with exposure to careers in law and public service, and supports the science and technology programs at Weaver High School through a Robotics Club, tutoring, and mentoring.
