The Urban League of Greater Hartford Young Professionals is an auxiliary organization that engages age 21–40 year olds to volunteer and support affiliate programs and events, and provide professional development through community service, civic engagement, leadership experiences, and networking to foster a vibrant Hartford.

Back to School
Backpack Giveaway

Each year, the YPs host a community-driven Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway, providing Hartford families with school supplies and family resources to ensure a strong start to the academic year. Distribution has reached 550 backpacks filled with notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, and more. More recently, the YPs went "Beyond the Backpack" to sign students up for tutoring, mentors, and other supports. The event offers a vibrant atmosphere featuring free vegetables, fitness activities, health screenings, voter registration, and family-friendly entertainment.

Holiday Toy Drive

The YPs host an annual Holiday Toy Drive made possible by the generous support of our corporate partners and a special contribution from Planet Fitness. We collected and distributed over 500 toys to ensure children across Hartford experienced the warmth and magic of the season.
